Teutopolis village board members Wednesday decided to expand the number of short-term rentals in the village to 15.
The number of rentals has been frozen, but the decision was made to increase it to 15 and then revisit the issue.
The Board tabled a quote from Global Technical Systems to update the warning siren software on the old fire station building, as the current siren might be sufficient. It was also decided to approve a quote from Effingham Striping to re-stripe the parking lot at the village hall.
Board members hired Tyler Henkelman as a water and sewer employee for the village, agreed to donate up to $750 in tourism funds for the Christmas in the Village effort, and voted to renew the employee health insurance renewal with the same vendor.
The Board approved the Civic Club Annual Halloween Parade, and passed the fiscal year tax levy as well as abated the amount for the water line that runs from Teutopolis to Newton. The Board also passed an ordinance authorizing the transfer of a lot in Prairieview Estates Subdivision.
