Millikin University and Eastern Illinois University have announced 10th-day enrollment figures.
Millikin officials said the incoming Class of 2029 included the largest number of first-year students since 2020. Millikin welcomed 545 new undergraduate students to campus to begin the fall 2025 semester, a 17% increase in students from fall 2024.
Thanks to the successful implementation of articulation and transfer agreements with several central Illinois community colleges, Millikin welcomed 132 transfer students to the Big Blue Family, the largest number since 2015.
Meanwhile at Eastern, the university welcomed its largest first-year domestic cohort in three years, with overall first-year domestic enrollment increasing by 4%. EIU also saw a 4% overall rise in new transfers and transfers from community colleges grew by 5%.
