Teutopolis Village Board members Wednesday agreed to work on an agreement with Effingham County on improvements to Green Street.

The agreement will be similar to the village’s agreement with the State on Main Street; in this case, the County will maintain the driving lanes of Green Street while the Village will maintain the shoulders of the roadway.

The Board also agreed to donate up to $500 in tourism funds to help host a German heritage tour on September 15th. The visit by a group of German citizens will include a tour of the Teutopolis Monastery Museum as well as a meal at the Kountry Kitchen.

Board members approved a payment on Phase 2 sidewalk work in Prairie View Subdivision and a change order on the project as well as a payment for work on Oak Street. The Board also discussed a subdivision plat in relation to village regulations. The project involves subdividing land for a family. The matter was referred to the village’s zoning board of appeals. There was also more discussion on a sign to be located outside the Village Hall, but no decision. The Board also approved the final invoices from the U of I for work on the new village comprehensive plan.

The Board also set Trick or Treat in Teutopolis for Friday night, October 31, from 6 to 8pm.
