Josh Douthit of Effingham has announced plans to seek re-election to the Effingham County Board.

Douthit, a Republican, represents District B. He is currently serving as Chairman of the County Board.

Douthit highlighted these items as accomplishments during this term:

 Fiscal Responsibility: Reduced both the county tax rate and tax levy percentage amount
each of the past three years and have maintained flat spending in the general levy for
the last two years, ensuring we are careful with your tax dollars.

 Protecting Our Values: Passed key resolutions and ordinances that uphold
constitutional rights, safeguard public safety, and ensure transparency and
accountability in how your tax dollars are spent.

 Investing in Infrastructure: Secured grant funding to improve our local transportation
and infrastructure—without burdening local taxpayers.

 Strengthening Education: Supported programs like the CORE Academy and facilitated
training to develop our employees’ leadership abilities.

 Economic Development: Facilitated funding to businesses through the revolving loan
fund and supported the Effingham County Chamber and The Alliance to expand
opportunities to businesses and attract responsible economic growth.

Douthit shared, “Effingham County deserves proven leadership that puts our families and future first. I am
running for reelection to continue fighting for our shared values, fiscal responsibility, and to
keep investing in our community.”
