 Lake Land Board Meets at New Effingham Facility

The Lake Land College Board of Trustees held their August meeting Monday at the new Effingham Technology Center.

The Lake Land school year opens this Friday, and the school has a variety of events scheduled this week for Welcome Week.

The Board approved the budget for the new fiscal year. Trustee Larry Lilly reported that revenue is down, but that careful management of expenditures has the college in the black fiscally.

The college’s Effingham and Effingham facilities manager Jerry Tkachuk said that the college is completely out of the Kluthe Center and that the Regional Office of Education is moved into the building. The number of apprenticeships is growing, and a multi-year plan to develop technical upgrades in being developed.

The Board approved a memorandum of understanding with the Faculty Association for a new Dean of Instruction position.
