Effingham Park Board members heard about good numbers for fall Park District sports.

Park District Director Jeff Althoff said good numbers have been seen for soccer and for flag football. Althoff also said 35 kids have signed up for the District’s after-school program and said good numbers are anticipated for fall volleyball coming later this year.

Althoff reported that today was the deadline to submit bids for construction of the second phase of the skate park at Hendelmeyer Park. Board members will consider the bids at their September meeting.

Althoff also shared that work to expand pickleball offerings on the north side of town is expanding; that resurfacing of the tennis courts at Community Park is being discussed; and that each board member has to submit their top three projects to be pursued.
