Alexis VanDyke was awarded the Jeff Brooks Award at the Effingham County Fair, an honor created to celebrate the extraordinary legacy of Jeff Brooks.
As Youth Advisor for Effingham County from 1957 to 1970, Jeff made a profound impact on the lives of countless young people. Even during his courageous battle with cancer, which ended on January 4, 1996, Jeff’s unwavering positivity and enthusiastic encouragement inspired many to achieve great success in their endeavors. This award was established by those who wished to honor Jeff’s incredible contributions to our community’s youth. Alexis’ positive influence, leadership, and community service, has made an impact on the 4-H community.
