Unit 40 Back-to-School Orientations

Effingham Unit 40 School District has released the schedule of Back-to-School orientations:

East Side Preschool – Students will receive a letter the first week of August inviting them to Meet the Teacher either on August 13^th or August 14^th. Students should be brought to/from school by a parent or guardian. Transportation begins on August 15^th with a 2:00pm dismissal for the afternoon class.

Early Learning Center – Students will receive a letter the first week of August inviting them to Meet the Teacher either on August 13^th or August 14^th. Students should be brought to/from school by a parent or guardian. Transportation begins on August 15^th with a 2:00pm dismissal.

South Side School – Students will receive a letter the first week of August inviting them to Meet the Teacher on August 13^th. Students should be brought to/from school by a parent or guardian. Transportation begins on August 14^th with a 2:00pm dismissal for both Thursday and Friday.

Central Grade School – Meet the Teacher night is August 11^th. Third graders can come from 4:30-6:00pm while 4^th and 5^th graders are welcome 5:30-7:00pm. The first three days of school, August 13-15, will dismiss at 2:00pm with bus transportation.

Effingham Junior High School – Sixth grade and new student orientation is August 5^th starting in the gymnasium. Students are asked to arrive during the time associated with their last name: A-H 4:30-5:30, I-P 5:15-6:15, and Q-Z 6:00-7:00. All other students are invited to the EJHS Open House on August 7^th from 4:30-6:30. The first three days of school, August 13-15, will dismiss at 2:00pm with bus transportation.

Effingham High School – 10^th-12^th grades can meet with their counselor on August 4^th for schedule changes and parking permits. Seniors 8-10am, Juniors 10-12pm, and Sophomores 1-3pm. Freshmen schedule changes can be made on August 5^th from 8-10am with new students until 3pm by appointment with EHS. Freshman and new student orientation is on August 5^th at 6pm in the EHS Cafetorium. The first three days of school, August 13-15, will dismiss at 2:00pm with bus transportation.
