Sacred Heart Catholic Parish of Effingham has announced plans for a capital fund drive. Titled the “Strengthen & Secure” Campaign, the effort’s main goal is to raise funds in support of four key initiatives: hospitality, prayer, service, and formation.
The parish has set a minimum goal of raising $1,200,000 which will provide funds for exterior enhancements on the Sacred Heart Church and School campus, security enhancements at the school, and several interior updates and improvements at the school. The initial funds applied toward the campaign were secured by receiving a purchase settlement from the state of Illinois for the parish’s land acquired for the Fayette Avenue expansion project. That settlement provided the funds for much of the exterior enhancements to get started right away. The rest of the enhancements and projects will proceed upon receipt of the remaining needed funds.
The campaign also has an “Ultimate” goal of $2,000,000, which would enable the parish to build a pavilion with outdoor restrooms and outdoor storage, as well as add to the school’s endowment, which would further strengthen and secure the future for generations to come at Sacred Heart School.
The campaign will culminate on Commitment Weekend on October 4th and 5th. Parish volunteers will be personally visiting their fellow parishioners and others in the community, inviting them to support the project.
