 Jasper County Board Reviews Improvement Projects

Jasper County board members heard of progress on the new Health Department building.

Members heard work is completed on the east end of the building, and the Department has begun moving into the facility.

There was also discussion of the county storage building and how it can best be utilized. There was also an update on the new courthouse. The architects met with the State’s Attorney and the Circuit Clerk to go over floor plans.

Board members voted to purchase eight of the new County flags, and approved a variance to the county setback ordinance along County Highway 9, which 1900 East that runs from Ste. Marie north.

The Board heard that Jasper County property tax bills have gone out. Due dates will be August 15th for at least the first installment and September 15 for the second installment.

Board members also appointed Alisha Wise as the animal control warden for Jasper County.
