Please be advised that Effingham High School and Effingham Police Department will be conducting Active Shooter Response Training exercises on Tuesday, July 15, 2025, and Thursday, July 17, 2025, at the high school. This is a planned, controlled drill involving law enforcement, school staff, and emergency responders—there is no actual threat.

What to expect:

 Officers in uniform and marked vehicles on campus

 Simulated scenarios in classrooms, common areas, and on school grounds

 Occasional use of training blanks (no live ammunition)

 Temporary road closures or parking adjustments

What you can do:

 Please avoid the school grounds during the drill hours if possible

 Share this notice with neighbors, carpools, friends, and family

City police say these exercises are critical for preparing our officers, school staff, and first responders to effectively respond in the event of a real crisis. They appreciate your understanding and cooperation as they work together to keep schools and community safe.

Please refrain from calling 911 regarding this training exercise.
