The Illinois EPA Friday presented guidelines regarding use of water from the Mattoon water treatment system.
Here are questions being asked by Mattoon water customers
–can I do laundry? YES
–can I wash my hands? YES
–can I drink tap water? NO
–can I use tap water to cook? NO
–can I shower? YES
The IEPA took samples of the Mattoon water on Friday. Results should be available at 2pm Saturday.
