Details have been released regarding a collision on Wednesday night on Interstate 57 north of Effingham.
The crash happened at 8:37pm in the northbound lanes at milepost 169 between Effingham and Neoga.
Illinois State Police report both semis were traveling northbound when a Peterbilt struck the rear end of a Freightliner. The driver of the Peterbilt was taken to an area hospital for treatment. He was also ticketed for failure to reduce speed to avoid the crash.
Both northbound lanes were closed until just after 10pm.
