As Todd Butler retires as Cumberland School Superintendent, the Cumberland Board of Education approved other changes.

The Board accepted the reassignment of Kevin Maynard from high school principal to high school Physical Education teacher, effective June 30. Maynard return to the classroom followed Michael Murdoch’s resignation as PE teacher.

Board members then approved the move of Daniel Huffman from elementary principal to high school principal, and posted the open position of elementary principal.

Maynard was then employed as high school assistant girls basketball coach and head high school softball coach. The Board then accepted the resignation of Greg Boldt as high school head baseball coach. Matt Sudkamp was hired to work in the district’s maintenance department, and Jessi Allison was appointed grade school yearbook sponsor.

Meanwhile, in his final meeting as Superintendent, Butler thanked his administrative team and his office staff for all of their help.

Darrell Houchin took over as Cumberland Superintendent as of July 1, coming from the Olney school district.
