 North Clay School Board Acts on Several Personnel Items

North Clay school board members have approved an amended budget for the fiscal year. Superintendent Keith Price said the district ended the fiscal year with an estimated budget surplus of $290,000.

Board members at this week’s meeting gave recognition to North Clay athletes who competed at the state junior high track meet. The Board approved a dual credit agreement for the coming two years with Illinois Eastern Community Colleges. An intergovernmental agreement was approved with the Flora Library, allowing North Clay students to be able to get a Flora library card.

The North Clay board discussed whether to seek bids for construction of a concession stand and restroom facility at the high school baseball field, but took no action. Superintendent Keith Price shared a list of building projects and improvements to occur this summer.

In personnel matters, the Board accepted the letter of resignation of Mayana Blair as junior high Special Education teacher, accepted the resignation of Logan Lotz as freshman boys basketball coach then hired Lotz as high school assistant basketball coach, hired Erika Yates as 7th grade girls basketball coach, hired Kaley Felax as special education teacher, hired Ethan Kuenstler as high school fresh/soph boys basketball coach, hired Kim Adair as 5th and 6th grade girls basketball coach, accepted the resignation of Malorie Craig as girls 7th grade volleyball coach and then hired Malorie Craig as junior high girls volleyball head coach, hired Nick Carter for 200 custodial summer hours, hired Jessica Percival and Kacie Crawford as class sponsors, hired Jason Henry as district technology director, and accepted the letter of resignation of Steven Stortzum as parttime bus driver but retained him as a sub bus driver.
