Two Altamont residents have been arrested on drug counts as well as stolen property charges.
The Effingham County Sheriff’s Office served an arrest warrant on Cody J. Sapp, age 40, and Heather M. Lindemann, age 50, at their residence on North Third Street in Altamont at 1:45pm Thursday. The Effingham County Warrants were issued for Sapp and Lindemann and allege Methamphetamine Trafficking, Methamphetamine Delivery – more than 100 grams, but less than 400 grams, and possession of Methamphetamine – more than 100 grams, but less than 400 grams. Sapp and Lindemann were both taken into custody without incident.
While at the residence Officers received further information that prompted Investigators to obtain a search warrant for the residence and grounds, which led to the discovery of approximately $100,000.00 in stolen property, that had been reported to the Sheriff’s Office earlier in the year. Along with the methamphetamine charges, Sapp and Lindemann were charged with Possession of Stolen Property – over $10,000.00, but under $100,000.00, Criminal Damage to Property – over $500.00, but under $10,000.00 and Animal Neglect. The investigation into the suspected stolen property is ongoing, and more criminal charges are expected.
The Effingham County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by, and worked closely with, the Altamont Police Department, the Effingham County State’s Attorney’s Office, and Effingham County Animal Control.
Effingham County Sheriff Paul F. Kuhns said, “I greatly appreciate how our offices and officers work together for the good of our communities. This investigation will help us resolve some of the thefts we have suffered this year, and recover some of that stolen property.”
Sapp and Lindemann are due back in court on Monday.
