The Illinois Secretary of State’s office is awarding over $1 million in new grants to assist public libraries in underserved communities with technology enhancements.
Secretary of State and State Librarian Alexi Giannoulias said 88 libraries are receiving a grant. The libraries must have a low tax base in relation to the population of their service area.
The area recipients are Altamont Public Library, Herrick Township Library, Neoga Public Library District, Sumpter Township Library in Toledo, and Storm Memorial Public Library in Windsor.
