State Representative Adam Niemerg of Dieterich Monday announced he is seeking a fourth term in the Illinois House.

Niemerg, a Teutopolis native, lives in rural Dieterich with his wife, Trina, and their two children. They are members of St. Isidore Catholic Parish and attend St. Aloysius Church. He graduated from Teutopolis High School and earned a Bachelor’s degree from Eastern Illinois University.

Since first being elected in 2020, Niemerg has led efforts to block legislation that threatened parental rights, including a bill that would have forced homeschool families to register with local public schools. He also helped defeat a push to legalize physician-assisted suicide in Illinois.

“The far left is determined to erase the values that built this country,” Niemerg said. “This spring, we stopped dangerous bills that would have attacked life and parental rights. I will never back down from those fights.”

Niemerg has also been a vocal critic of Governor Pritzker’s Sanctuary State policies. As the Republican Spokesman on the House Immigration and Human Rights Committee, he continues to challenge policies that prioritize illegal immigrants over Illinois citizens.

He is also part of a lawsuit challenging the constitutionality of Illinois Democrats’ budget process, which he says was rammed through without proper transparency.

The case is currently scheduled for a July 3 hearing in Sangamon County Circuit Court.
