The 154th Jasper County Fair will begin June 22 and continue until June 28. Weather permitting, the carnival will be ready for rides beginning Monday, June 21 and continue nightly through Saturday, June 28.
Highlights for this year’s fair include the queen pageant Sunday evening featuring the Queen, Jr. Miss, Pre-Teen, and Little Miss.
Monday and Tuesday will feature evening harness racing beginning each night at 6:30 p.m. offering an opportunity for those who enjoy harness racing to not miss a race because of their work schedule.
Wednesday evening those attending the grandstand event at 5 p.m. will be treated to the local tractor and truck pullers, always bringing local talent in front of the grandstand.
Thursday night Beck’s Hybrids is partnering with the fair to bring the ITPA Tractor pull to Jasper County at 7 p.m. But, at 6:30 pm attendees will have an opportunity to see those Vintage Modifieds pull, some of these tractors pulled years ago, and will be showcased at 6:30 prior to the ITPA pull.
Friday will be the ever-popular Whippoorwill Rodeo to Newton at 7 pm.
Saturday the fair will finish with a bang with the demolition derby at 6:00 p.m.
Livestock shows will be held throughout the week in the Larry Casey Jr. Livestock Building. The 4-H auction will be Thursday evening at 3 p.m. and the livestock shows will finish with the dairy
show on Saturday.
