An eight-year-old Kinmundy girl has died of injuries she suffered after falling out of a tree at her home Friday morning. The girl was identified as Grace Fitzwater, daughter of Jesse and Emilee Fitzwater.
Kinmundy-Alma Ambulance and United Medical Response both assisted in getting the girl to the Salem Township Heliport, where she was transferred to a St. Louis Hospital. She died on Saturday.
Information from Kinmundy-Alma firefighters and the Marion County Sheriff’s Office is that the girl had climbed the tree many times in the past without an issue.
