Effingham County FISH Fund Drive
On June 1, Effingham County FISH celebrated 55 years of serving Effingham County residents. In 2020, FISH planned to raise $50,000 for 50 years, however Covid had other plans. Therefore, in 2025, FISH is striving to raise $55,000 for 55 years.
FISH is an all-volunteer, non-profit organization, whose mission is to elevate the quality of life for those among us in need in Effingham County.
FISH offers many services for Effingham County Residents: Emergency Services (help with utilities, food, housing, medicine, etc.), Clothes Closet, Community Holiday Dinners (Thanksgiving and Christmas), FISH Christmas Store for Seniors and Disabled, FISH and Catholic Charities Christmas Store for Families with Children, School Supplies, and Transportation to Medical Appointments within a 120-mile radius of Effingham.
Like every other organization, FISH is experiencing higher costs on everything. Therefore, a dollar does not go as far as it used to, plus they’re serving a higher number of people.
