TUSCOLA — Effingham St. Anthony won both in boys and girls golf at the Tuscola High School $10 Match at the Iron Horse Golf Club Thursday.
St. Anthony claimed the girls meet with a 176 followed by Villa Grove 221 and Salt Fork 230. Tuscola did not have enough members for a team score.
Brooklyn Phillips was medalist with a 37 followed by teammate Gianna Frisbie in second with a 44, Adria Moberly fourth with a 47, Lucy Bierman fifth with a 48 and Liza Kuhns 12th with a 62.
In the boys meet, St. Anthony had a 137 followed by Salt Fork 171, Tuscola 175 and Villa Grove 183. St. Anthony had a new team nine hole match record with a 137 (-7).
The Bulldogs’ Logan Gowin was medalist with a 32 followed by Liam McAllaster, Jameson McAllaster and Briggs Whitley tied for third with a 35 each. James Trupiano was sixth with a 39 and Trenton Sandschafer eighth with a 42.
In the boys junior varsity meet, St. Anthony was the winner with a 159 followed by Tuscola 225, Salt Fork 259 and Villa Grove did not have a team score.
St. Anthony swept the top five scores. Daniel Ramos and Charlie Hoene had a 38 each followed by Grayson Bloemer 39, Andrew Meyer 44 and Anthony Brummer 47.
At Charleston
Teutopolis won a boys golf match at the Charleston Country Club Thursday.
The Wooden Shoes tallied a 144 followed by Effingham 158, Mahomet-Seymour 169 and Charleston 178.
Co-medalists were T-town’s Mathew Habing and Effingham’s Jude Traub with a 35 each.
Also scoring for the Wooden Shoes were Isaac Weber 36, Kade Pennington 36 and Eli Weber 47. Non-counters were Owen Kremer 38, Ben Sandschafer 40, Jack Weber 41 and Lane Ohnesorge 42.
Along with Traub, scoring for the Hearts were Leo Wyckoff 36, Owen Nuxoll 41 and Carter Braddy 46.
Non-counting scores were Roman Martin 47, Colby Fields 52, Elliott Braddy 54 and Eli Wendling 59.
