A Vandalia man accused of firing a weapon at another person and with pointing a gun at a police officer has been ordered held in jail in Fayette County.

33-year-old Adam J. Robson has been charged with armed violence, which is a Class X felony, for firing a weapon in the direction of another individual. Robson has also been charged with aggravated discharge of a firearm and aggravated assault. A second count of aggravated assault stems from pointing the weapon at a Fayette County sheriff’s deputy.

Robson faces a total of six felony counts and a misdemeanor charge from the incident, which occurred on Sunday. Judge Allan Lolie ordered Robson held in custody.

Robson will make his first appearance in court with counsel on June 16.
