Larry Taylor is back as a member of the Altamont City Council.
The former mayor was sworn in Monday to fill the remainder of an unexpired term.
Now, the Council is working to fill another unexpired term since Monday was Katie Huntley’s last meeting before leaving the Council since she is moving into the TIF District and a Council member cannot live in the district. Those interested in a seat on the Council need to contact City Clerk Sarah Stephen by June 5.
The Council passed the annual Appointment Ordinance with all of those currently serving reappointed. Also, Taylor Law was reappointed as legal counsel for the city.
Council members authorized the lease of real estate relating to operation of a food truck at Schmidt Park. There are three spots available. Lickin My Chicken and Pullin My Pork has spoken for one of the spots and another vendor has contacted the City. The Council also acted on an electric easement for service running around the Zink Apartments building.
Council members approved an ordinance amending the net metering policy for a solar energy interconnection. The rates don’t change. A service of 25 kilowatts or less will be $200, and a service of more than that will be $600. The policy meets new Federal guidelines.
Following a closed session, the Council approved 4% pay increases for all non-union City workers.
