Effingham St. Anthony played host to Highland in high school softball action Monday and claimed a 5-2 victory.
St. Anthony moved into a 1-0 opening inning lead but Highland tied in the top of the second. However, St. Anthony came right back to move ahead 2-1 then tacked on a third run in the third inning.
St. Anthony finished out with single runs in the fifth and sixth.
Both teams had seven hits. Emeline Wines led the way for St. Anthony with a single, triple and an RBI while Kelli Honselman had a double and an RBI. Julia Schultz had a single and two RBI.
Honselman earned the victory on the mound. She went the first five innings, giving up one run on six hits, one walk and striking out two. Nancy Ruholl came on to finish the final two innings, giving up one run on one hit, two walks and striking out three.

Brownstown/St. Emo finished with 13 hits in a 12-9 victory over Okawville Monday.
The Eagles pushed across four runs in the second and fifth innings around three in the third and one in the fourth.
Kadence Speagle went seven innings on the mound. She allowed nine runs, 13 hits, one walk and struck out eight in the win.
Speagle aided her own cause offensively with a single, two triples and three RBI. Brooklyn Landrus had a double, home run and two RBI while Izzy Orr had two singles, a double and an RBI. Macey Sapp and Auni Wollin had a single and an RBI each, Macy Claycomb had two singles and Cami Haslett added an RBI.

Dieterich played host to Mulberry Grove and blanked the Aces by a 17-0 tally in four innings.
Allison Boerngen and Aliza Garner combined to toss a no-hitter. Boerngen with three innings, striking out seven while Garner went the final inning with one strikeout.
The Maroons moved into a 2-0 opening inning lead then added on five in the second and finished with 10 in the third inning.
Dieterich had seven hits led by Callie Faller with a single, double and three RBI, Lydia Wohltman with two singles and three RBI, Addi Huber with a single and two RBI and Aliza Garner with a single and an RBI. Kinley Will added two RBI while Claire Faller and Boerngen finished with an RBI each.

Allison Shields had four singles and four stolen bases for the winners. Brylie Prater had three singles and two RBI, Harper Lilly had two singles and two RBI while Jayla Arnett had two doubles, Madison Dover a double and two RBI and Natalie Tucker a double and an RBI.

The Cougars moved into a 3-0 opening inning lead then had a seven-run second, a four-run third and ended the game with a three-run fourth.
Perci Reid led the way offensively with two doubles, a home run and four RBI. Kinlee Thompson added a double, home run and three RBI while Amelia Montes two singles and a double and Baylee Brown with a triple and two RBI.
Lauren Johnson went the four innings on the mound, giving up two runs on three hits, one walk and striking out six.

Mia Holsapple pitched the seven innings, allowing six hits, walking five and striking out three.

The Tigers edged out to a 1-0 opening lead then had a six-run second, a four-run third and a two-run fourth to end this game in the fifth inning.
T-town’s two runs came in the bottom of the fifth.
The Wooden Shoes were led by Kera Hartke with a single and double and Malea Helmink with a single and an RBI.
