 World Wide Technology Raceway Announces 2026 Event Schedule For St. Louis Metro-East Facility

MADISON, Ill. (Jan. 21, 2026) – World Wide Technology Raceway officials announced today the full 2026 event schedule for the St. Louis Metro-East multipurpose facility. The schedule features more than 70 days of drag racing and includes anniversary specials for all three national events.

National Events 

National events begin with a 10th anniversary special as the NTT INDYCAR SERIES Bommarito Automotive Group 500 returns June 6-7 for another prime-time, under-the-lights race. The event will begin at 8 p.m. CT and broadcast will be on FOX. The move to prime time in 2025 delivered stunning views, high-speed action and a first career oval win for Kyle Kirkwood.

NASCAR returns Sept. 12–13 with the NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series racing Saturday, followed by the fifth annual Enjoy Illinois 300 NASCAR Cup Series race on Sunday. WWT Raceway will serve as the second stop in the NASCAR Cup Series Chase as well as in the NASCAR O’Reilly Series Chase.

Championship racing continues Oct. 2-4 with the 15th Annual NAPA Auto Parts NHRA Midwest Nationals, held during the 75th anniversary season of NHRA. The event will once again feature two rounds of qualifying under the lights on Friday and remains a turning point in the NHRA Countdown to the Championship.

Drag Racing 

As part of NHRA’s 75th Anniversary, WWT Raceway will host three NHRA Division 3 Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series events, making it the only track in the North Central Division to host more than two divisional events. The facility will serve as both the season opener and double divisional finale.

The racing season kicks off on March 20 with the season opener of the Ranken Technical College presents Midnight Madness fueled by Nos Energy Drink. The 2026 season will feature nine Madness events, held on the third Friday of each month from March through October, with the finale scheduled for Oct. 30.

Local racing continues as the Gateway Heads-Up Mafia program returns following an impressive 2025 season, while the Carl’s 4 Wheel Drive and Performance Center Bracket Series returns in April with a new Saturday night and Sunday daytime format. The 10-event bracket schedule includes special additions, including an NHRA 75th Anniversary Wally awarded during races May 16–17.

Specialty drag racing remain a highlight on the schedule, including TB Promotions Twin 50s (May 7-9), the Nostalgia Drag Racing League (NDRL) Route 66 Rockabilly Reunion (May 22-23), and The Million Dollar Drag Race, which runs Sept. 21-26, ahead of the NAPA Auto Parts NHRA Midwest Nationals.

Specialty events continue through the season with Boost Fest (June 13), Mopar Blast (Oct. 17-18) and two dates of Import Face off (April 12, Aug. 15). The Mopar Blast weekend returns with the Saturday box/no box $3,000 to win bracket race followed by the Sunday Mopar vs World with $6,000 up for grabs. Additionally, in a Holiday Bracket Special July 2-3, there will $3,000 to win each night.

New for 2026, the Super Fair takes over WWT Raceway’s Special Events Lot July 31-Aug. 8, bringing more than a week of family fun. The venue transforms into a full-scale carnival, featuring vendors, games and rides for all ages.

Oval and Road Course

The oval and road course continues to stay busy as car clubs, car shows and driving experiences stay constant throughout the season. The Sports Car Club of America (SCCA) will return with a variety of events in 2026, including their three-day weekend event April 10-12. The St. Louis Chapter of the Porsche Club of America will also host three, three-day weekends.

For anyone wishing to ride along or drive on the track some of the biggest names in motorsports have raced on, SCCA’s Performance Driving Experience (PDE) will return for seven Tuesdays from April to October. Xtreme Xperience also returns July 23-26, offering guests to ride along or get behind the wheel of their supercar fleet.

The longest-running Corvette show in the United States returns to WWT Raceway for its annual event on June 11-13. The Bloomington Gold Corvette event is three days full of Corvettes and Camaros that have the chance to be judged for the prestigious Gold Standard Judging.
