Members of the Effingham Noon Rotary Club learned January 14 about plans for a new Lutheran high school for the area.
Holy Trinity Lutheran High School is coming in the Fall of 2027 for freshmen and sophomores. The school would operate in the facilities of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Effingham.
Ammon Probst, Allie Ziegler and Ben Burdick spoke of plans for the school. When sharing about the plans, the three discussed several distinctives…awareness of the Lord, a culture of virtue, a full range of academics, Illinois State Board of Education recognition, extra-curriculars, technology in its place, patriotic, and distinctly Lutheran.
The speakers indicated that things are coming together. 12 Lutheran congregations want to send their kids to the school, a lease with St. John’s will be in place, and there are 56 interested Lutheran families.
Chris Debolt served as Rotary weekly program chairman.
