TEUTOPOLIS — Teutopolis played host to Effingham and East St. Louis Clark in seventh- and eighth-grade boys basketball competition Saturday.

Teutopolis was a 48-10 winner over Effingham in the seventh-grade B contest. The Shoes were led by Evan Kinkelaar with nine and Cameron Kremer with eight.

Effingham was led by Levi Eckert with four.

In the eighth-grade B game, T-town ran out to an 18-2 opening quarter lead and tallied a 38-24 victory over Effingham.

T-town was led by Max Bloemer with 11 points.

East St. Louis Clark won the seventh-grade game over Effingham, 54-4. No other information provided.

Effingham fell to East St. Louis Clark, 45-43 in the eighth-grade contest. Clark held an 18-15 halftime lead then had a 16-13 third quarter run.

Effingham was led in scoring by Peyton O’Dell with 13 and Deek Thompson with 11.

ESL Clark edged T-town 38-36 in seventh-grade play. Clark led 33-21 going into the final quarter and made a comeback bid only to fall short.

Bryson Meyer led T-town with 17 points.

In the eighth-grade game, T-town was a 22-18 winner. Kason Meyer scored seven to lead the Shoes.

At Dieterich

Dieterich and Neoga split victories.

Dieterich won the seventh-grade contest 50-13 with a 31-6 halftime lead.

Luke Wohltman scored 14 for the winners while Chase Bohnhoff had eight.

Neoga was led by Bright with nine points.

In the eighth-grade contest, Neoga was a 28-25 winner. Neoga held a 13-4 halftime lead and led 21-11 going into the final quarter.

Gage Nohren scored 17 to lead the winners while B. Matusas scored 15.

Dieterich was led by Chase Bohnhoff with eight.

At Cowden

Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City claimed two victories over North Clay Saturday.

CHBC won the seventh-grade contest in double overtime, 33-29.

North Clay held a 6-1 opening quarter lead and led 12-10 at halftime. North Clay had a 13-4 third quarter to lead 25-14 but CHBC came back with a 13-2 run to tie the score at 27-27 sending the game into overtime.

In the first overtime period both teams scored two points. In the second overtime CHBC had a 4-0 run to pull out the victory.

Tyce Kircher and Colt Ondes led in scoring with 10 each for the winners.

North Clay was led by Boose with 12.

In the eighth-grade contest, CHBC was a 44-25 winner. CHBC took a 20-17 halftime lead and had a 15-5 third quarter run.

Lane Reed led the winners with 13 points while Drake Thull added 11.

North Clay was led by Ruholl with 16.

At Cowden

Jasper County fell to Paris Mayo 50-28 in the first game in the seventh-grade conference tournament.

Paris Mayo ran out to a 20-5 opening quarter lead and never looked back.

Cash Collins led Jasper County with 14 points.

In the second contest, Casey-Westfield was a 44-26 winner.

Grant Frichtl led Jasper County with 10 points. Top defender was Alex Keller, top rebounder was Trace Cornwell and top passer was Frichtl.
