 Junior High Girls Basketball — Oct. 3-4

TEUTOPOLIS — Teutopolis played host to Vandalia and send the visitors home with two junior high girls basketball losses Friday.

The Wooden Shoes won the seventh-grade game, 32-2.

Dieterich’s lone basket was by Kambryn Mellendorf.

In eighth-grade action, T-town edged out to a 7-5 opening quarter lead but Dieterich came back to pull ahead 11-9 at halftime. T-town then had a 16-7 second half run.

Ava Benefielt led Dieterich with six points while Emma Williams added five.

At Strasburg

Stewardson-Strasburg claimed two victories over Altamont Friday.

Stew-Stras won the seventh-grade game, 25-19 to improve to 2-2 on the season.

Altamont held a 15-13 halftime lead and led 19-17 going into the final quarter. Stew-Stras came back to hold Altamont scoreless while putting in eight points for the win.

Barnard had 11 points for Stew-Stras which improves to 2-1 in the National Trail Conference, 2-2 overall.

Altamont was led by McClellan with 10.

In eighth-grade action, the game went two overtimes before Stew-Stras pulled out a 30-23 victory.

Stew-Stras came back with an 18-11 third quarter deficit to outscore Altamont 12-3 to knot the score sending the contest into the first overtime and won with seven points in the second overtime period.

Maddy Manhart led the way with 10 points as the team improved to 2-1 in the NTC, 2-2 overall.

Altamont was led by Burrus with seven points.

At Neoga

Neoga claimed a 32-22 win over Paris Crestwood Saturday.

Neoga trailed Crestwood 10-7 at halftime but came roaring back with an 18-9 third quarter run and went on for the victory.

Bliss Bear led the way with 17 points while Nora Hartke chipped in with nine.
