STRASBURG — Windsor/Stewardson-Strasburg edged Altamont 9-8 on the final play of a high school baseball game Saturday.
The game was tied at 8-8 in the bottom of the seventh when Oliver Wascher drew a walk and Koy Morris singled, scoring the winning run.
Altamont fought back after falling behind by a 5-2 count in the first inning and Windsor/Stew-Stras scored two more in the second.
The Indians tallied five in the fourth to tie the score before Windsor/Stew-Stras pulled out the victory. The Indians scored on a hit by a pitch, a fielder’s choice by Reed Stuemke and a home run by Zaine Miller.
Derk Friese had three singles and an RBI for the winners while Oliver Wascher had a single, double and an RBI. Wyatt Wetherell added two singles and two RBI and Noah Pruemer two singles. Koy Morris and Branson Tingley had a single and an RBI each.
Altamont was led by Miller with a home run and two RBI, Cooper McManaway with a single, triple and an RBI, Will Reardon with two singles and an RBI, Reed Stuemke with a single and an RBI and Kade Milleville and Parker Bell with an RBI each.
Friese was the winning pitcher. He went the final two innings, giving up one hit and no walks.

At Teutopolis
Altamont was back in action against Teutopolis Monday and fell in another one-run contest, this time by a 4-3 count before dropping a 13-3 loss in the second of a doubleheader. The opening game was heard on KJ Country 102.3.
T-town took a 2-0 opening inning lead and led 3-1 after three in the first game. The Shoes then tallied a run in the sixth for the 4-1 lead. Altamont mounted a comeback with two runs in the seventh only to fall short.
The Shoes had eight hits led by Jason Kreke with two singles and an RBI, Nolan Schumacher with two singles and Aidan Niemerg and Gavin Addis with a single and an RBI each.
Schumacher went four innings for the win on the mound. He gave up one run on one hit, two walks while striking out two. Aidan Niemerg came on to toss the final three innings, giving up two runs on three hits, three walks and striking out two.
Altamont was led by Zaine Miller with a single and two RBI, Brayden Elam with a single and an RBI and Will Reardon with a single.
In the second contest, T-town moved into a 1-0 opening inning lead and ended up finishing the game by the 10-run rule in the fifth, 13-3.
The Shoes had seven hits led by Austin Borries with a two-run homer, Davin Worman with a single, triple and one RBI and Nolan Schumacher, Michael Habing, Kendall Mette with a single and two RBI each and Jason Kreke with a single and an RBI.
Altamont had six hits, all singles. Kade Milleville and Parker Bell had a single and an RBI each.
