Kenneth L. Bierman (77) of rural Dieterich

Kenneth L. Bierman, 77 of rural Dieterich, passed away on Thursday, July 2, 2026 at HSHS St. Anthony’s Memorial Hospital in Effingham.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, July 8, 2026, at the Immaculate Conception Parish Hall in Dieterich. Burial will follow in St. Aloysius Cemetery in Bishop Creek, where military rites will be conducted. A parish wake service will begin at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday at St. Aloysius Parish Hall in Bishop Creek, followed by visitation until 6:00 p.m. The Knights of Columbus will lead the rosary at the conclusion of the visitation. Memorial donations may be given to the St. Aloysius Church. Arrangements are in the care of Bauer Funeral Home in Effingham.

Kenneth was born August 11, 1948 in Effingham, the son of Leonard and Wanda (Walk) Bierman. He served with the United States Navy from 1966 to 1969. Kenneth married Mary Carol Pruemer on June 5, 1976. He was a member of St. Isidore Parish, the Teutopolis Knights of Columbus #2874, and the Teutopolis Legion #924. After he was discharged from the military, Kenneth worked as a cable TV installer, a US mail transporter between Carbondale and Chicago, and a local FS petroleum salesman. He was active in his church as a lector and usher. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and especially golfing with friends and family. Kenneth was a lifelong farmer of grain and livestock on his generational family farm in Bishop Creek.

Kenneth is survived by his wife, Mary Carol of rural Dieterich; children, John (Kiley) of Teutopolis, Beth (Brandon) Bevel of Las Vegas, NV, Katie (Adam) Hoene of Dieterich, and Tom (Jennie) Bierman of Ft. Riley, KS; 13 grandchildren, Chris Bierman, Ashley Lonngren, Kimberly Bierman, Jackson Bierman, Kiel Apple, Gabe Gordon, Ellie Hoene, Taylor Hoene, Toni Hoene, Morgan Hoene, Annabell Bierman, Hailey Bierman, and Allison Bierman; 7 great-grandchildren; siblings, Bob (JoAnn) Bierman, Ralph (Diana) Bierman, Donna (Dean) Keller, and Debra (Rod) Thoele.

Kenneth was preceded in death by his parents and granddaughter, Kaitlyn Bierman.
