Brittany Nicole Baker, 18, of Watson died Thursday morning, December 5, 2013.

A Celebration of Life service will be at 7pm Monday, December 9 in the big gym at Effingham High School with Rev. Dr. Roger Marshall officiating.  Services are care of Hall Funeral Chapel in Effingham. Visitation is from 4-7pm Monday, also in the high school gym. There will be a private family burial on Tuesday at Watson Cemetery in Watson.

Brittany Nicole Baker was born on September 16, 1995 in Effingham, the daughter of Anthony E. and Victoria L. (Petska) Baker.  She was a senior at Effingham High School and was very active in the Effingham Marching Hearts Red Regiment Band.  She was a member of First Baptist Church and the Crossroads Free-Will Baptist Church in Effingham and worked at Culver's Frozen Custard and Butterburgers in Effingham.

Survivors include her father and mother...stepfather, Tim Bloemker and fiance Dawn Lasher of Effingham...four sisters, Casara Holland and husband Gary of Altamont, Chelsey Baker of Wanantskill, New York and special friend Nicolas Hage, Heather Baker of Watson and special friend Seth Ross, and Kacie Bloemker of Effingham...grandparents, Norman and Leona Baker of Newton, Bruce Petska of Effingham and Sandra Potter of Dieterich.

She was preceded in death by her grandmother, Dorothy Petska and her step-grandfather, Paul Potter.

Culver's Frozen Custard and Butterburgers in Effingham will close at 4pm Monday for the funeral of Brittany Baker and for a time together at the restaurant after the funeral.  Culver's will re-open at 10am Tuesday.
