 Dieterich School Board Fills Vacancy; Accepts Principal Resignation

Dieterich school board members filled a vacancy at a special meeting Thursday evening.

After four candidates were interviewed, the Board selected Frank Niemerg to fill the vacancy. Niemerg will fill a two-year term, until the next school board election in 2027.

The Board also reorganized and elected new officers…Cory Niebrugge as president, Devin Aherin as vice president, and Frank Niemerg as secretary.

The Board adopted its meeting schedule for 2025-2026; appointed Devin Aherin the Eastern Illinois Area Special Education Governing Board member, with Corey Niebrugge as the alternate. The Board appointed Rae Lyn Schmidt as district treasurer. Jon Engelbart was appointed the Board representative to the Illinois Association of School Board’s delegate assembly, with Anita Bierman as the alternate.

The Board also accepted the resignation of Junior-Senior High School Principal Scott Kocher, effective June 16th.
