“It’s fitting that Christy is being appointed President of our board at such an exciting time for the organization,” said Jim Schultz, Chairman of the Board of The Cross Foundation. “Christy is a natural leader with a deep understanding of marketing and development, and will assist us as we work to expand the campus at The Cross at the Crossroads.”

Hakman, 43, has a long history of leadership in business and in the non-profit industry in particular. Having graduated in 1996 from Southern Illinois University in Edwardsville, Hakman holds a bachelor of science in marketing communications with specializations in public relations and journalism.

Of her appointment, Hakman said, “I’m humbled to be elected to be the President of The Cross Foundation.” It’s a blessing to be involved with an organization whose mission is to share the message of Christ’s love and redemption, and I look forward to assisting with the expansion of the Cross campus and other future endeavors of the ministry.
