Albert Hiram Clark, Jr. age 59, of rural Jewett, IL passed away at 8:22 PM – Sunday, April 22, 2012 at St. Anthony’s Memorial Hospital in Effingham, IL.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM – Friday, April 27, 2012 at the Bishop Funeral Home in Greenup, IL with Rev. Tim Pearce officiating.   Burial will be in Island Creek Cemetery in rural Montrose, IL.   Visitation will be held 6:00-8:00 PM – Thursday, April 26, 2012 at the funeral home.  In loving memory of Albert, memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Research or to the American Heart Association.  The obituary can be viewed and condolences left at

Albert was born on June 3, 1952 in Mattoon, IL the son of Albert Hiram and Edna (Fogelman) Clark, Sr.   Albert was a lifelong farmer and had also been a salesman at Louis Ochs Chevrolet in Newton.  Albert enjoyed traveling, attending sporting events and spending time with family and friends.  His great joy was his children and grandchildren.

Albert is survived by: 2 Children – Rebecca (Nathan) Pitcher of Springfield, IL and Nick (Julie) Clark of Effingham...Grandchildren – Maddux and Peyton Clark of Effingham...Special Friend – Lisa Hurt of Jewett, IL

Albert was preceded in death by his parents and his sister Rosemary Clark.

Donald Lee Sanders (82) of Effingham

Donald Lee Sanders, 82 of Effingham, died at 1:47 AM Friday, April 20, 2012 at St. Anthony Memorial Hospital, Effingham.

Funeral services will be at 11 AM Monday, April 23, 2012 at Watson United Methodist Church, Watson. Burial, with graveside rites by IL State Police Honor Guard, will follow at Watson Cemetery. Visitation is 3 – 7 PM Sunday at the Watson United Methodist Church and 1 hour prior to service time at the church. Memorials are requested to the church.

Don was born on April 24, 1929 in Anderson, IN the son of Humbert D. and Wilma (Taylor) Sanders. He grew up on a farm near Logan, IL and graduated from Benton High School. He married Dorothy Broy on May 10, 1949 in Benton and she survives.

He was extremely proud of his military service in the Korean War, his 25-year career with the Illinois State Police where he rose to the rank of Captain, and his family. He enjoyed working around his farm in rural Effingham, emailing friends and family, watching Western movies and Fox News. Before his health declined, he loved traveling, riding motorcycles, and spending winters in South Texas. Don was a member of the Watson United Methodist Church.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his five sons; Dave (wife, Mary) of Chatham, Dan (wife, Vivian) of Watson, Duane of Effingham, Derek (wife, Debbie) of rural Watson, and Douglas (wife, Leslie) of rural Effingham, 15 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, and his sister; Jo Ann Grimes of Benton.

His parents preceded him in death.
