Mt. Vernon Attorney, Lane Harvey will present "Charlie Birger and Gangsters in Southern Illinois" Tuesday, February 19 at 6:00pm at the Effingham County Courthouse Museum.

Hosted in partnership with the Helen Matthes Library, Mr. Harvey will discuss Charlie Birger and his gang as well as the turbulent 1920 Southern Illinois history and explain the court case that gave him possession of the noose that was used to hang Birger in 1928.
