Community Calendar

PAVE will be hosting a Community Breakfast at the Carriage House Event Center to raise awareness about PAVE, recruit volunteers, and inform patrons about the wonderful work that is going on throughout Effingham County.  

Through PAVE (Promoting a Vision for Effingham County), we have many dedicated volunteers working towards a 20 year vision of making Effingham County the best place to live, work, and thrive.  PAVE is doing excellent work through their five Action Teams:  Parks & Recreation, Housing, Workforce & Education, Childcare, and Festivals & Events.

Featured Speaker:  Kurt Becker

Kurt Becker is a native of Altamont and a graduate of both Altamont Community High School and Southern Illinois University-Carbondale.  Kurt is an independent contractor in the sportscasting field, with an emphasis on Thoroughbred racing and NASCAR.  He currently serves as track announcer at Keeneland Racecourse (Lexington, Ky.) and as a play-by-play announcer for Motor Racing Network.

Location: Carriage House Event Center, Altamont

Cost: $20 per person – proceeds from the event will go towards the PAVE Action Team initiatives.  Registration required to attend.
