The Stewardson Trinity volleyball season came to an end last Friday.

"Our volleyball season came to an end last Friday," said Trinity Coach Tammy Meinhart. "We competed in the SIJHSAA regionals on Thursday and Friday held at Iuka. We defeated St Peter in two sets to advance to the regional finals vs Iuka.  We lost a tough three set match to Iuka.  They were a good team that played very well against us.

We played tough but just had a few times when we played safe and made a few too many errors.  I told the girls after the loss that they had nothing to hang their heads about. They played hard and left it all on the court. We wish Iuka good luck in the state tourney this Saturday.

"Even through we fell just short of the state tourney we still had a very successful season. I am very proud of all this team has accomplished.

"We ended the season 22-6. We were tourney champs at Newton St Thomas and St Anthony, second place at the Effingham Sideout Shootout and fourth place at the Jasper/Geff tourney down south. We have five eighth-graders on the team this year. I want to wish them well as they move on to high school."
