FARMER CITY -- Cissna Park came out to hit the first two baskets of the Class 1A Farmer City Blue Ridge Girls Basketball Super-Sectional Monday evening.

The Timberwolves held a 5-0 lead on Altamont. But Claire Boehm connected a corner three to get the Indians off and running, hitting another three in the quarter while teammate Grace Nelson put in six points. The two teams were tied at 12-12.

The game was jsut as exciting all the way through, especially for Altamont fans as the Indians went on to capture a 52-44 victory over Cissna Park and now has a berth in the Class 1A State Tournament 

Altamont came back to break the first quarter tie although it was back and forth through the second period. Peyton Osteen hit a baseline  jumper while Boehm put in two more from the free throw line and Nelson was . . . just being Nelson with two baskets and two of two at the free throw line for six points The Indians held a 23-20 halftime lead.

In the third quarter, Altamont pushed the lead to 13 with about three minutes remaining in the period. Nelson connected on two more baskets and continued her hot scoring from the free throw line with three of three. P. Osteen was also on track, hitting two three-pointers and Boehm put in a basket. The Indians held a 38-32 lead going into the final quarter.

After that, Altamont went quiet.

And here came the Timberwolves. They started a 14-0 run that lasted until the five minute mark of the fourth quarter. Addison Lucht scored six in the third quarter and hit a three-pointer in the fourth period along with a regular basket.

Nelson posted up and got fouled when the Indians were trailing 39-38. She connected on a field goal and free throw and that was the lone field goal in the quarter.
