Effingham St. Anthony and Dieterich fought through three sets before the Bullpups claimed the junior high volleyball wins Tuesday.

St. Anthony claimed both matches, taking the seventh-grade contest, 25-18, 19-25, 25-21. Leading the Bullpups were Carly Budde and Malllory Littz with two kills each, Ava Hendrickson with one block and Nora Niebrugge with 11 aces.

In the eighth-grade contest, Dieterich won the opening set 25-20 but St. Anthony came back with 25-15, 25-19 wins for the match.

Alexa Wagner led in kills with six and aces with five. Madelyn Gilmore also had five aces, led in assists with eight and blocks with three. Claire Kinkelaar had one dig.

At Effingham

Stewardson-Strasburg picked up seventh- and eighth-grade victories over Effingham Tuesday.

Stew-Stras won the seventh-grade contest, but it took three sets. Stew-Stras won the opener 25-20 before Effingham came back to take the second set 25-18. Stew-Stras then won the match 25-9 to improve to 1-3.

Camille Helmink led in aces with 11 while Anna Brown had two assists and three kills, Zoey Conder also had three kills. Lorelei McCormick led in digs with five and had one block.

Effingham was led by Laynee Pankau with three kills, Alayna Wade had six assists and Olivia Koester had four digs. Tylee Johnson and Koester had five aces each.

In the eighth-grade match, Stew-Stras was a 25-14, 26-24 winners and remains unbeaten at 4-0.

The winners were led by Edie Wittenberg with three digs, six assists and 11 kills and Karly Wetherell with five aces, three digs and two blocks.

Effingham was led by Emery Spicer with three kills, Seatyn Althoff and Alaina Miller with four assists each, Miller with five aces and Sydnie Flessner with five digs.

The Mustangs are back in action Friday hosting Robinson at 4:30.

At Teutopolis

Teutopolis captured both victories over Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City in junior high volleyball Tuesday.

The Wooden Shoes won the seventh-grade match, 25-10, 25-12 to improve to 5-0 on the season.

CHBC was led by Harper Lilly with three points, Sophie Zumbahlen with one kill and Raylee Martin with one block and two digs.

In the eighth-grade contest, T-town was a 25-14, 25-15 winner and is also 5-0.

CHBC was led by Brylie Prater and Adilynn Nowitzke with three points each. Prather had two kills. Ethel Stuckemeyer had two aces, two kills and one block. Carissa Wakefield led in digs with four.

T-town is back in action Thursday against Casey-Westfield.
