STRASBURG -- Windsor/Stewardson-Strasburg claimed a high school volleyball victory in two sets over South Central Monday.

The Hatchets tallied 25-14, 25-14 scores over the Cougars to improve to 4-0 in the National Trail Conference, 10-3 overall.

"I wish we could have taken care of our side of the court tonight," said WSS Coach Ronda Schlechte. "Our passing was a bit off which threw off our offense."

Halle Moomaw led the winners in aces with four. Gabby Vonderheide had six kills. Ella Kinkelaar led in assists with 14 while Ainslie Eident led in digs with five.

South Central was led by Emma Runge and Jalynn Mitchell with three digs each, Reagan Roberts with eight assists and Brooke Cowger with three kills. The Cougars drop to 11-7 on the season.

Windsor/Stew-Stras took the junior varsity match by 25-12, 25-7 scores and is undefeated at 10-0. Zaida Wascher led with four aces while Mya Friese had seven kills. Kendra Hayes led in assists with 13. Katelyn VonBehrens had three digs.

South Central dropped to 6-3 in junior varsity play.

The two teams split freshman/sophomore sets. South Central was a 25-22 winner while WSS claimed a 25-19 victory. WSS has a 4-1-7 record while South Central is 2-2.

At Teutopolis

Teutopolis swept Greenville in freshman/sophomore, junior varsity and varsity action Monday.

The varsity claimed a 25-7, 25-18 win to improve to 9-10 on the season.

"A 19-serve run by Molly Pals which included eight of her 10 aces on the night was a key moment for us," said T-town Coach Jim Dietz. "That's a school record, breaking Emma Deters' record set at the Crossroads Classic this year.

"It was nice to be aggressive in the first set, especially with Molly's roll serving, but in the second set, we got sloppy, too many unforced errors where we weren't pressured to make mistakes. We were fortunate that didn't blow up in our faces."

The Shoes were led by Molly Pals with 10 aces, Danielle Probst with 15 assists, Emma Deters with seven kills, TaNeal Einhorn with two blocks, Claresa Ruholl with nine digs and RyLee Dittamore with two aces.

In junior varsity action,  T-town won 25-21, 25-11 and is 14-4.  Madison Miller led in kills with seven. Kaley Jordan had nine assists. Brittany Swingler led in aces with four while Olivia Cates had 14 digs.

The Wooden Shoes improved to 6-2 

T-town also claimed the freshman/sophomore match, 28-26, 25-15 and is 6-2.

At Teutopolis

St. Elmo/Brownstown handed Casey-Westfield a loss in two sets Monday, 25-9, 25-15.

Kinley Carson led the winners with 10 points, five assists and three digs. Addie Sasse had one ace, four kills, one blocked shot and eight assists.

At Moweaqua

Moweaqua Central A&M handed Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City losses in varsity, junior varsity and freshman/sophomore action Monday.

CHBC won the opening varsity set, 25-17 but CAM came back with 25-18, 25-23 tallies for the match.

CHBC was led by Karlee Smith and Macee Rodman with four kills and three aces each, Ellie Miller had three aces. Macee Summers led in assists with seven. Rodman led in digs with 15.

In junior varsity action, CAM was a 25-12, 25-21 winner and also claimed the frosh/soph match, 25-15, 25-17.

At Moweaqua

At Dieterich

North Clay/Clay City defeated Dieterich, 25-23, 25-16 in varsity play Monday.

The Cardinals improved to 4-0 in the National Trail Conference, 19-3 overall. 

NC/CC also won the junior varsity match, 25-22, 24-26, 25-16 and the freshman/sophomore contest, 25-23, 25-16.

North Clay/Clay City is back in action Thursday at the annual Pink Out Game at South Central.

 

At Neoga

Cumberland came calling and downed host Neoga 25-23 and 25-18 Monday.

Leading the Pirates were Megan Yaw with six assists, McKenzie Matteson and Katelyn Shoemaker with five kills each, Brielle Aaron and Charlee Thornton with two blocks each, Suzy Fritts with three aces and 13 digs.

The junior varsity also won for the Pirates, 26-24, 25-23.

Leading the winners were Leah Gray with eight assists, MacKenzie Claybaugh and Mia Holsapple with six digs each, Holsapple wit six kills and one block and Willow Sowers with four aces.

At Neoga
