Teutopolis defeated Jasper County in eighth-grade volleyball competition Monday.

Jasper County won the opener 25-19 before T-town came back with 26-24, 25-16 scores for the match.

The Wooden Shoes improved to 16-7.

"That was a pretty good match tonight with both programs playing hard and doing things the right way," said Teutopolis Coach Jim Dietz. "We got a lead in the first set and Jasper County came back wth some good hitting  to win and the second set started with an 8-0 run by Brittany Swingler but Jasper County came back to have a chance at match point. That was a playoff-like environment and a good match and good timing before regionals begin Saturday."
