Stewardson Trinity won the Effingham Sideout Shootout Saturday. Stewardson Trinity captured the championship of the Effingham Eighth-Grade Sideout Shootout Saturday.

 Trinity defeated Massac County, 25-16, 25-19 and Effingham, 25-11, 25-13. The squad then downed Mount Pulaski, 25-16, 17-25, 15-8 and won over Hartem, 25-15, 25-21.

Effingham claimed sixth place. The Mustangs defeated Mount Pulaski, 25-22, 20-25, 15-12 then lost to Trinity 25-11, 25-13 before losing to Massac County, 25-23, 12-25, 15-12. Effingham fell to Edwards County (Albion), 25-23, 25-14.

Teutopolis defeated Albion, 25-17, 25-16 then won over St. Anthony, 25-21, 25-22. Hartsberg-Emden beat T-town, 25-14, 25-21. The Wooden Shoes then won over Mount Pulaski, 23-25, 25-22, 25-9.

In the seventh-grade tournament, Effingham finished second. The Mustangs defeated Teutopolis, 25-21, 25-18 and lost to St. Anthony, 15-25, 25-12, 15-11.

T-town fell to Effingham and won over Trinity Lutheran, 25-21, 26-24.

At Windsor

Sigel St. Michael captured the championship of the National Trail Conference Eighth-Grade Volleyball Tournament Saturday.

St. Michael beat North Clay (Louisville), 25-13, 25-11 then won over St. Elmo/Brownstown and defeated Stewardson-Strasburg for the title.

Stewardson-Strasburg finished second, beating Neoga and Effingham Sacred Heart before losing to St.Michael.

St Elmo/Brownstown beat CHBC, 25-20, 15-25, 15-10 then lost to St. Michael, 25-9, 25-12. SEB fell to Sacred Heart, 25-18, 25-17.

South Central lost to Sacred Heart, 25-16, 25-13. South Central then faced Neoga and lost the opener 26-24 before winning 25-19. Neoga then took the match, 15-10.

Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City lost to St. Elmo/Brownstown, 20-21, 25-15, 15-10 then downed North Clay, 25-17, 25-2. CHBC then won over Neoga, 25-17, 21-25, 15-3 for the consolation championship.
