MULBERRY GROVE -- St. Elmo/Brownstown easily handled Mulberry Grove in volleyball action Friday.

The Eagles won in two, 25-13, 25-14. The team had a total of 15 kills with Morgan Hall leading the way with four and Jo Strauch with three. Peyton Garrard led in assists with eight and aces with five.

Laney Baldridge led the team in digs with six. Leading in points were Garrard and Hall with seven each.

St. Elmo/Brownstown -- Baldridge, 2 kills, 1 assist, 2 aces, 6 digs, 4 points; Garrard, 2 kills, 8 assists, 5 aces, 1 dig, 7 points; Hall, 4 kills, 1 assist, 3 aces, 1 dig, 7 points; Nolan, 2 kills, 2 points; Sasse, 1 assist, 2 digs; Smith, 2 kills, 3 assists, 2 aces, 1 dig, 4 points; Strauch, 3 kills, 3 aces, 6 points

 

At Newton

Teutopolis handed Newton losses in both varsity and junior varsity competition Friday.

The Wooden Shoes claimed the varsity contest, 25-22, 25-19.

Leading Newton (3-3) were B. Johnson with seven kills, Schafer with seven assists, Parr with seven digs and Shull with a block.

In the junior varsity contest, T-town was a winner, 25-22, 25-23.

Newton claimed the freshman match, 27-25, 25-14.

At  Altamont

Charleston came calling and claimed a victory over Altamont. The Trojans won, 25-23, 25-23.

Altamont fell to 4-2 on the season. Mette led the Indians in kills with six and digs with nine. Runge had seven aces and one block. McManaway also had one block and led in assists with 20.

In the junior varsity contest, Altamont nabbed the victory, 25-8, 26-24 to improve to 4-2 on the season.

At Louisville

North Clay (Louisville) picked up two victories over Centralia Christ Our Rock Lutheran Friday.

In the varsity match, CORL won the opener 25-20 but North Clay came back with 25-17, 25-19 scores for the match.

In the junior varsity match, the Cardinals claimed the opener 25-17 then took the next contest 25-15 and finished out 15-11.
