Effingham St. Anthony claimed two victories over South Central in junior high volleyball competition Tuesday.

The Bullpups won the opening set in seventh-grade play, 25-7 before South Central came back with a 25-23 win. St. Anthony then claimed the match, 25-21.

In the eighth-grade contest,  St. Anthony was a winner, 25-10, 25-11.

 

At Teutopolis

Teutopolis downed Altamont twice in Tuesday action.

T-town was a winner in the seventh-grade match, 25-20, 25-10. Allie Ruholl led T-town in assists with four while Olivia Kemme had nine aces. Anna Probst had four kills. The Shoes improve to 5-5.

Altamont was led by Rippetoe with six aces and two assists. Hollinshead and Lurkens had two kills each. Altamont dropped to 4-7 on the season.

In eighth-grade action, Altamont opened with a 25-16 win before T-town came back 25-20. The Shoes then won the match 25-18 to improve to 5-5.

Claresa Ruholl had six digs while Ella Wermert and Paige Swingler led in aces with four each. Wermert had seven assists. Megan Brummer had five kills.

Altamont was led by Reardon with nine kills, Lemke with 16 digs and three blocks and Splechtor with 19 assists as the squad dropped to 8-3.

At Newton

Jasper County claimed victories in both seventh- and eighth-grade action over Hutsonville Tuesday.

Jasper County won the seventh-grade match, 25-13, 25-14 and is now 6-1.

Kenzie Holder had 12 aces while Zoey Michel led in kills wih six and Isabel Meinhart in assists with three.

In eighth-grade play, Jasper County was a 25-8, 25-13 winner to improve to 7-0.

A. Mulvey and A. Stanley led in aces with five each. A. Mulvey had four assists. K. Martin had five kills and five digs.

At Newton
