Effingham Sacred Heart and St. Peter Lutheran split victories in junior high school volleyball competition Tuesday.

The Shamrocks won the seventh-grade contest. St. Peter took the opener 25-21 but Sacred Heart came back with 25-18, 15-12 scores for the win.

In eighth-grade action, St. Peter was a winner, 25-22, 25-14.

At St. Anthony

Effingham St. Anthony claimed two victories over Charleston Tuesday.

The Bullpups won the seventh-grade match, 25-23, 25-18.

In the eighth-grade contest, St. Anthony picked up the victory, 25-11, 25-21.

Dieterich and Altamont were each a winner in junior high volleyball action Tuesday.

In the seventh-grade match, Dieterich claimed the win taking the opener 25-21. Altamont Lutheran came back with a 25-17 second set. Dieterich won the match 15-13.

In the eighth-grade contest, Altamont Lutheran won 25-17, 25-21.

There was a sixth-grade contest and Altamont Lutheran was the winner, 25-6, 25-5, 16-13.

At Iuka

North Clay picked up double wins over Iuka in junior high volleyball action Tuesday.

North Clay improved to 2-1 with a win in seventh-grade play. Iuka won the opener 25-23 but North Clay rallied with 25-23, 15-5 sets for the win.

In eighth-grade action, Iuka again won the opener 25-21 but North Clay came back with 25-12, 15-8 counts for the match and improved to 2-1.

 

At Oblong

Jasper County won both matches over Oblong.

Jasper County clamied the seventh-grade contest, 25-20, 25-8 and improved to 6-0.

In the eighth-grade match, Jasper County was a 25-19, 25-19 winner and is now 5-1.
