TEUTOPOLIS -- Teutopolis High School picked up volleyball victories over Dieterich Tuesday evening.

The Wooden Shoes won the varsity contest 28-26, 23-25, 25-17. Katelyn Ruholl had five aces and 13 assists for the winners. Natalie Summers had 13 kills and 10 digs. Michelle Schmidt led in the block category with three.

Dieterich was led by Tori Hardiek with 10 points and three aces. Shelby Wendling had 17 digs and 15 assists. Candace Niemerg led in kills with 14 and blocks with two.

The junior varsity match went to T-town over Dieterich 25-20, 25-13.

At Cowden

Stewardson-Strasburg picked up a National Trail Conference win over Cowden-Herrick Tuesday.

The Comets won the opener 25-18 but Cowden-Herrick came back with a 25-23 score. Stew-Stras then went out at 25-15 to improve to 7-1 in the conference, 10-5 overall.

"We should have come out tonight and dominated but our errors kept us from doing that," said Stew-Stras Coach Ronda Schlechte. "We did not use this game to improve ourselves instead we had to fight for every point. Hitting errors and passing errors kept us from playing our game. In game three the girls played much better and had some big kills. We have to take this game and learn from it."

Kendall Knop and Elizabeth Gratz had five aces each for the winners. Knop added 14 kills and 26 digs. Kelsie Walden had 30 assists.

In junior varsity play, Cowden-Herrick picked up the win 25-20, 25-20.

St. Elmo played host to Beecher City and handed the visitors a loss in varsity play, 25-9, 25-11. Leading the winners were S. Feezel and G. Moore in kills with four each, Feezel had two blocks, M. Maxey with four aces, Manley with 13 assists and two blocks.

St. Elmo also claimed the junior varsity match 25-12, 25-5.

At Lawrenceville

Newton beat Lawrenceville in straight sets, 25-14, 25-18. Newton was led by Keidrah Hardiek with 11 kills and two aces. Megan Jansen had seven assists and two aces. Gabby Zerrusen had seven assists. Emilee Johnson had four digs. Sydney May had three solo blocks and four assist blocks.

Windsor claimed a 28-26, 25-16 victory over Neoga in National Trail Conference play.

Jenny Bullock led the Blue Devils in kills with 12 and aces with three. Dani Bell had 17 digs. Lindsay Floyd had 11 assists. Windsor improves to 13-7 overall.

Neoga claimed the junior varsity match 25-20, 25-19.

At Toledo

Flora defeated Cumberland in two games, 27-25, 25-23.

Cumberland was led by Staley with seven kills and three blocks and Hodges and Jones with an ace each.
