Effingham H.S. State Boys Track Qualifiers Don't Reach Finals

CHARLESTON -- Effingham High School had an individual and a relay team competing in the Class 2A State Boys Track Meet Friday at Eastern Illinois University's O'Brien Stadium but the Hearts did not advance to the finals scheduled for Saturday.

Jacob Weaver just missed advancing in the pole vault. He tied for 16th place with a vault of 3.95 meters. The top 15 advanced to the finals.

The 4x800 relay team of Adam Flack, Alex Gordon, Aaron Hill and Sam Spicer finished 24th in the preliminaries with a time of 8:16.07 minutes. The top 12 teams advanced to Saturday's finals.
