EHS Claims First At Girls Tiger Relays, St. A Second In Boys Meet

PARIS -- Effingham Hgih School captured first place in the girls portion of the Olney Tiger Track Relays Wednesday.

The Hearts won with 172 points followed by Paris 138, Effingham St. Anthony 130, Hume Shiloh 101 Marshall 63 and Charleston 20.

Baylee Summers was a winner in the 400 for EHS with a time of 1:04.04 minutes. Summers was then part of the 1600 relay team that claimed first in 4:13.15 minutes. Other team members were Macy Kirk, Jessica Larsen and Drew Weis.

Camdyn Burgholzer won the 300 hurdles in 53.49 seconds and finished second in the 100 hurdles in 18.61. She also claimed a second place finish in the high jump at 4 feet, 10 inches.

Lauren Etheridge finished second in the 3200 in 16:32.07. Weis was a second place finisher in the 800 in 2:27.65.

St. Anthony's Gracie Slifer won the 3200 in 15:58.42 minutes. Another first for the Bulldogs came at the pole vault where Allison Geen went over the bar at 11 feet. Grace Niebrugge was a winner in the triple jump at 31 feet, 1 inch. Aubrey Denning claimed the 800 with a time of 2:21.01 minutes.

In the boys meet, Paris was the champion with 154 points followed by St. Anthony 124, Marshall 114, Effingham 84, Danville Schlarman 70 and Hume Shiloh 61.

The Bulldogs finished second behind numerous individual second and third places. Isaac Fallert took second in the 400 in 56.62 seconds while teammate Elliott Frisbie was third in 58.85. Noah Flaig finished second in the 800 in 2:14.65 minutes.

St. Anthony's 1600 relay team finished second in 4:10.87 minutes. Team members were Frisbie, Julius Ramos, Fallert and Flaig.

Harrison Miller took second in the discus wth a throw of 99 feet, 8 inches. Calvin Sudkamp was second in the high jump at 6 feet.

Effingham's 800 relay team was a winner in 1:44.66 minutes. Team members were Hayden Wendling, AJ Lybarger, Austin Hepner and Maxx Kistler.

Max Buzzard captured the pole vault victory, going over at 10 feet. Adam Flack was first in the 400 with a time of 54.96 seconds. Hepner was second in the 100 with a time of 12.24 seconds.
