Hearts Compete at Lady Knight Track Invitational

TRIAD -- Effingham High School finished 10th out of 16 teams in the Lady Knight Track Invitational Friday.

Normal University won the meet with 90 points followed by Edwardsville 83, Chatham Glenwood 81, Mascoutah 69, Cahokia 54, Normal Community West 51, Troy Triad 40, Alton 37, Waterloo 37, Effingham 34, Marion 32, Belleville West 31, Granite City 27, Harrisburg 18, Collinsville 13 and Bethalto Civic Memorial 5.

Effingham's Jessica Larsen captured second place in the 800 with a time of 2:22.25 minutes while teammate Drew Weis was fourth in 2:24.29.

The 3200 relay team of Morgan Springer, Baylee Summers, Weis and Larsen captured second place with a time of 9:57.14 minutes.

The 1600 relay team of Summers, Macy Kirk, Larsen and Weis finished third in 4:15.75 minutes.
